Little House on the Prairie: Former boxer Joe Kagan moves to Sleepy Eye and offers his assistance with the maintenance of the blind school while Adam and Houston are out of town. Joe is clearly in love with Hester Sue, but after being burned by her previous marriage, she refused to get involved. Matters worsen when Hester Sue, who has struggled to connect with a hurting and resentful young blind student, begins questioning her competency as a teacher. To escape these feelings of inadequacy, Hester Sue decides to accept the proposal of Hertzell Lundy, a man she does not love, but who at least can offer her a financially stable life. Mary holds her ground in opposing this foolish wedding, as does Joe, but in the end, it's going to take a lot more to help Hester Sue reach her senses.
