Deep Purple came from an idea exotic. In the country that spawned The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and has revealed the title of the god Eric Clapton, everyone was waiting for the next big idea in the fertile field of rock. In 1967, Chris Curtis, a former drummer for The Searchers, had the idea to collect exotic very talented musicians in a group called Roundabout (Roundabout).
